Hempnall FC

Hempnall met upper mid table Shrublands at Bungay Road, expecting and getting a very tough and close game.

Again without GK Swatman, non GK and long-standing player Womack kindly agreed to stand in, in their hour of need.

Hempnall started on the front foot but Shrublands came closest to the opener but the ball skidded across the goal.

Hempnall progressed to the other end and were awarded a free kick 30 yards out, a superb kick from Gent found Shaun Kelly who in turn found the net for 1-0.

The game remained end to end, both teams going close, the exciting game we hoped for.

A very close first half 

Both teams came out fighting and again Shrublands came closest, a good save from Womack.

All players on the park were working exce

ptionally hard, and Hempnall came closest but sub Huxtable fired against the bar, and the ball flew out; then a cross shot from Marjoram was pushed out by the keeper, Huxtable unable to reach the ball before the keeper recovered.

Shrublands fought to the end, suffered an unfortunate sin bin but still matched Hempnall, and could have had a penalty. 

Both management teams had different views, but the referee didn't see enough to warrant a penalty, the only controversy in the game.

A very close game, Shrublands can feel unfortunate not to get anything out of the game.

Man of the match with a clean sheet was stand in goalkeeper Jutty Womack.
