Home Match, Fosters Solicitors Anglian Combination Division 3 South - 2025 - 2026

Win, 5 - 0

Hempnall met mid table Lowestoft Reserves in D3, Hempnall looking to continue their good form to remain in the top 3. The pitch was, following the large amount of recent rain, stodgy but perfectly playable.

Hempnall started very well, and came close after a few minutes, good forward play ensuring Hempnall looked dangerous with the defence easily withstanding Lowestoft's few forward forays.

Hempnall's first goal followed a very good, fast move, with Jack Herbert finishing well.

Lowestoft were finding it difficult to get into the game.

Hempnall's next good move saw Jake Gent come close with a shot that just passed the upright, and shortly after, a Hempnall corner flew across the goalmouth with no finishing touch applied.

Hempnall were creating a number of half chances, and their second goal came from an excellent finish from Shaun Kelly, and their third came shortly after, a very good header from Ed Lake.

Hempnall's next effort was deemed offside, as were another couple of efforts, but Hempnall were undeterred and Cattermole finished well for their fourth

The excellent Womack was working hard and and finished well for Hempnall's fifth.

Shortly after, Gent would have expected to score but blasted over.

Half time 5-0.

We were hoping for similar dominance in the second half but Lowestoft obviously had a serious half time team talk and came out far more competitive, and whilst Hempnall still looked the better team overall, it was a far closer game. Despite no further goals, Hempnall had several half chances, both Womack and Etherington came close, but the score ended 5-0.

Hempnall fully deserved their scoreline.

There were a number of very good performances today, all players played their part, though the squad determined joint men of the match, Jamie Bennett and Justin Womack.
