Hempnall First Team v Hemsby

Jason Trett (Chairman)
Report By Jason Trett (Chairman)

Saturday, 05th January 2019, 2PM, at

Away Match, Anglian Combination Division 3 - 2017 - 2018

Win, 12 - 2

Today we travelled to Hemsby, again missing several players, but we had a strong 11, with Bunno and Trett on the bench.

Hempnall started the game strongly, and it was Deano who had the first chance after 5 minutes but failed to score when it looked odds on with just the keeper to beat. He made amends 5 minutes later scoring after receiving a good ball from recent signing Ollie West.

It was soon 2-0 when Stridey, making his 1st appearance of the season, smashed one in from 30 yards.

Hemsby replied to make it 2-1, but Hempnall were in control Deano scoring his second and Hempnall's third from a corner.

George Watts then slotted Hempnall's fourth with a cool finish into the top corner, then just before half time, Clarkey made it 5-1 with a fine finish.

Hempnall kicked off the second half to score the perfect team goal, a number of players got involved in the build up, and Deano completed his hat trick.

Watts then added his second and Hempnall’s seventh with another fine finish to make it 7-1, Womack then got on the score sheet to make it 8-1, and very quickly scored his second to make it 9-1.

Hemsby then scored from a free kick, but soon after, Watts completed his hat trick to make it 10-2.

Jamie Etherington scored a deserved goal to make it 11-2, and to top off a fine performance, Womack scored his hat trick with a thunderbolt.

The final score was 12-2.

Well done all.

The back four of West, Leather, Kelly and Reynolds looked solid, the midfield of Watts, Stride, Ethrington and Clarke were outstanding, and the front two of Womack and Mortimer would have caused problem for any defence today, they were top class.

Taylor who only touched the ball a handful of times, was solid.

Great p[erformance lads, on to the next game, we are climbing the table.
