Hempnall First Team v Norwich CEYMS Res

Jason Trett (Chairman)
Report By Jason Trett (Chairman)

Wednesday, 22nd August 2018, 6:15PM, at Hempnall #1

Home Match, Hadley & Ottaway Anglian Combination Division 3 - 2018 - 2019

Win, 2 - 1

On Wednesday evening, we played CEYMS in our first league game of the season.

Hempnall started brightly but there was nothing between the sides until Hempnall took the lead on 30 minutes through a Wayne Collins penalty after Deano had been fouled.

Hempnall were then on top and played some good football, and when needed the back four were in excellent form, giving CEYMS no chances.

Half time 1-0.

The second half started with Hempnall on top and on 60 minutes, Deano made it 2-0 when he picked up the ball after a mistake from the CEYMS keeper and cooly slotted home from 18 yards.

Hempnall continued to dominate until 70 minutes when CEYMS scored a very soft goal.

From that point onwards, CEYMS were on top and for the remainder of the game Hempnall defended valiantly and fortunately stood strong, Hempnall coming out the victor, but only just, fortunately, their performance of the first 70 minutes saw them through.

Final score 2-1
