Hempnall F.C. Reserves v Sprowston Wanderers

Report By No specific role (No specific role)

Saturday, 17th November 2012, 2PM, at Thorpe School

Away Match, Anglian Combination Division 2 - 2012 - 2013

Loss, 0 - 6

Ships don't sail without their captain!!!

This weeks opponents, Sprowston Wanderers were a team who we'd struggled with in both fixtures last season, even though we'd gone into both games thinking a win was possible.

This season, based on results and some intel from some of the Bungay lads, we knew that Sprowston were even stronger this season than last.
The game was one which I knew would be tough, and one where a point would probably feel like a win.

The squad we had available was certainly good enough on paper to get something from the game, a good mix of youth and experience, with a little slice of creative and some devilishly good looks!!

But sometimes things fall apart at the last minute. Benny 'Lampard' Player was called up in front of the British Babysitting Council, for over use of one of their members and had to pay the ultimate price and call off from footy and sit at home to look after Player junior (Note to all other clubs: already signed to Hempnall FC).

With BP unavailable and our club Captain, Dougie Webber away on active service in the Brazilian rain forest, working for the Royal Institute of Rare Butterflies and Moths, it was always going to be a difficult week!!
This situation wasn't made any easier by the call off of Oli 'the Peg' Pointer, who used some awful excuse about wedding plans, which as you can imagine, didn't go down well in the changing rooms!!

Anyway we lost the game 6-0 and we move on to next weeks fixture!!

Onwards and upwards!!

MOM
1st - a Sprowston player
