Hempnall First Team v Gorleston Res

Jason Trett (Chairman)
Report By Jason Trett (Chairman)

Saturday, 17th February 2018, 2:30PM, at Emerald Park

Away Match, Anglian Combination Division 3 - 2017 - 2018

Loss, 0 - 1

Today we travelled to high flying Gorleston, with Hempnall missing a few players.

Bunno and me knew we had a big task on our hands, and despite a few changes in the side, Hempnall started the game well and kept a great shape throughout the first 45 minutess, limiting Gorleston to only half chances.

We created a few half chances through George Watts, who came close with a fine effort from 25 yards.

The back four of Kelly, King, Twiddly and Clarke were outstanding and gave Gorleston nothing. The midfield of Bennett, Radford, Watts, Kelly and Beefy worked tirelessly and prevented Gorleston from playing football.

Clarkey up top worked his socks off and held the ball up well to link up wingers.

Half time 0-0.

Hempnall didn't have much possession in the second half, but equally didn't allow Gorleston to play.

The only disappointment was that Gorleston did score on 65 minutes, which proved to be the only goal of the game.

Billy came close late on but the ball went inches past.

Final score 1-0.

A big well done to all the boys a great effort today, if we can take that performance into rest of the season I'm sure we will pick up many points and move up the table.
