Hempnall F.C. Reserves v Hawthorn United

Jamie Bennett (Joint Sunday team manager)
Report By Jamie Bennett (Joint Sunday team manager)

Saturday, 09th September 2017, 2PM, at Dip Farm #2

Away Match, Lowestoft And District Division 3 - 2017 - 2018

Win, 4 - 0

On Saturday, the Reserves visited Hawthorn FC, who proved to be a resilient team that we had to try and break down.

We started with a goal in the first few minutes by Keeley 'don't stop running ' Cleverely, breaking through and running down on goal.

This however seemingly became a negative as we never really kicked on despite working hard for the next 30 minutes, but finished the first half how we should play.

The entire team worked hard again, but our play was a bit sloppy, possibly due to thinking the game was going to be easy.

Nick 'can't stop me scoring ' Talbot added another.

The opposition gave us an own goal, and James ' thunderfoot' Youngs finished the scoring from apparently 170 meters out.

Jordy'the chopper' Batterham put his body on the line with a great tackle in the box, as did Matt' you shall not pass' Oakley using his face to keep the clean sheet, it was this dedication to the cause that won him the ‘man of the match’ award, just pipping several others who could've won it.

Overall great work ethic again from everyone! First 30 we didn't quite click but the rest of the game played really well.

Proud of you guys! Well done.
