Hempnall First Team v Redgate Rangers

Jason Trett (Chairman)
Report By Jason Trett (Chairman)

Saturday, 02nd September 2017, 2:30PM, at Old Hunstanton Road

Away Match, Anglian Combination Division 3 - 2017 - 2018

Loss, 0 - 1

Today we had the long trip to Redgate (Hunstanton), who currently have a 100% record, and with Hempnall once again having to make five changes, we knew this would be a difficult game.

Trett and Bunn decided to play a 4-5-1 formation and be very defensive, which proved right, as although Redgate had possession, they never really caused too much threat.

Hempnall created a few counter attacks, one of which saw Griffiths with a good chance, but he shot narrowly wide.

10 minutes before half time, Redgate took the lead from a short corner.

Half time 1-0.

The second half saw neither side create many chances and the score remained 1-0 at full time.

Hempnall introduced 16 year old Jamie Bennett for his debut on 65 minutes and he looks a very bright prospect for the future.

Well done lads, I could single you all out for a mention, but I'm nearly asleep!

In summary, the back four were solid and the midfield boys will sleep well tonight after that shift.

Big congratulations to Andy Cranmer and Hempnall Reserves on their win today against Loddon Reserves.
