Saturday, 13th October 2018, 3PM, at Hempnall
Home Match, Central & South Norfolk League Division 4 - 2018 - 2019
Win, 17 - 0
The Reserves took on Bar 33 Reserves in a match they were determined to win to cement their second place in the Division.
There were thoughts that Barr 33 may prove strong opposition, but this was dispelled as unfortunately, they had only 10 players and no linesman, so it was always going to be difficult for them, and with Hempnall’s strong forward players, it became a bit of a rout.
Hempnall’s first goal was scored after only about 20 seconds, and goals came regularly after that.
The defence were rarely under pressure, and when they were, the opposition attack were generally snuffed out.
An unfortunate injury to Adam Lockwood saw the first team manager make his entrance as substitute, and his World Class volley found the back of the net.
Alex Chapman looked a class act, Jordie Batterham covered, as always, every blade of grass, but centre stage went to Elton, determined to show off in front of the in-laws, managing to net 8 times (should have been more had he been a bit more accurate!!!!), and Land who scored a mere 5.
Chapman decided to go on a couple of mazy runs and scored twice, Parnell completed the goal tally.
The Hempnall keeper and joint manager cut a lonely figure in goal, his joint manager, Radford had a lot more exercise in midfield.
The final score was 17-0.
Well done to Bar 33 who never gave up, they went down to 9 men due to an injury, and facing Hempnall with the wind at their backs in the second half, did well to keep their heads up.
MOM is Danny Elton.
