Hempnall F.C. Reserves v Homecare Utd

Home Match, Central & South Norfolk League Division 4 - 2018 - 2019

Ambulance Cup,

Loss, 2 - 4

The Reserves faced Homecare Utd in the Ambulance Cup, expecting to continue their good form, but late call offs and holidays got in the way of manager Radford naming a full squad. The team welcomed new signing Daniel Cullubine, and were confident of an extended cup run.

The team started brightly enough, we were getting the impression that the teams were well matched, both keepers looking comfortable enough snuffing our early chances until Hempnall conceded.

The Hempnall team were looking somewhat dis-jointed, lacking width, allowing the opposition to overwhelm them at times. Hempnall were also a little generous in their finishing, until Jack Parnell finished beautifully to nullify the opposition’s lead. Land then blasted over, the Homecare keeper had to again be alert from an Elton break, but, unfortunately, another Homecare break resulted in a further goal.

Hempnall tried hard, Forbes, Radford and the promising Cullubine looking to inspire the troops, but it wasn’t happening for Elton and company, both Elton and Parnell having shots saved.

All in all, a disappointing Hempnall performance, after the Christmas and New Year break, the team just weren’t at their best.

Onwards and upwards.
