Loss, 1 - 7

Hempnall went into this Cup match without three regular, important players, so brought in Jordie Batterham at right back, with Tom Radford on the bench.

Playing a high quality, high flying side in Wymondham at their place was never going to be easy, and with the pitch proving tricky after all the rain in recent times, it just made things even more challenging.

For the first 30 minutes though, Hempnall looked the equal of Wymondham, but then one goal led to another, with Hempnall unable to reply, the bar intervening, Goreham’s rocket rebounding away, and by half time, Wymondham were four to the good.

So it was game over, and with Hempnall heads down, Wymondham scored another three before a mistake in defence allowed Marjoram a tap in for a consolation goal.

Hempnall did have a number of half chances through the match, but were unable to convert any, the score reflected a couple of periods during the game when Hempnall were carved open through poor positioning.

One Hempnall performance stood out for me, Justin Womack worked exceptionally hard and deserved far more for his effort. He was comfortably the MOM.
